Cajun Dry RubCajun Dry Rub

Even though the concept of rubbing seasoning all over your food before you cook it sounds messy, it's actually a great way to give some kick to your cooking!

In our family, we're not that excited about eating food that is too spicy. This recipe fits us perfectly as it provides some outstanding taste with no real after effects.

It seems to work very well if you're cooking meat in a cooking bag. If you use it on poultry, put some rub in between the skin and the meat. This helps it season the inside more effectively.

1/2 cup Paprika
6 tablespoons Kosher (coarse) salt
1/4 cup Black pepper, coarsely ground
3 tablespoons Basil, dried
3 tablespoons Garlic powder
2 tablespoons Onion powder
2 tablespoons Oregano, dried
2 tablespoons Cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons White pepper
2 tablespoons Thyme, dried

Mix and use for blackened dishes and any other dishes that call for Cajun seasoning.

Enjoy!
