Not sure why Ohio has the corner on the word "buckeye", but if it has anything to do with these treats, you'll become a fan.

1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups sifted powdered sugar
2 (12-ounce) packages semisweet chocolate morsels

  1. Beat peanut butter and butter at medium speed of an electric mixer until fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla, beating well.
  3. Gradually add sugar, beating until blended.
  4. Shape into 3/4-inch balls; place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Insert a wooden pick into top of each ball.
  6. Freeze at least 2 hours.
  7. Place chocolate morsels in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts, stirring occasionally.
  9. Dip each frozen ball into chocolate, coating three-fourths of ball.
  10. Place on wax paper-lined cookie sheets, and chill until chocolate is set.
  11. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.

Makes about 9 dozen.

Enjoy!
